You probably had seen many demonstration on paint protection coating on different Manufacturers or Detailers advertising their goodness of their product in Videos or pictures posted, particularly "Ceramic Coating" or "Glass Coating" products. Almost every demonstration you seen looks amazing and convincing. The question you should ask yourself is "Durability". You can use wax or silicone spray to get the same results. The most important research you need to make is real life Reviews and verification of reviews. Too much Reviews are probably fake as company may pay and engage certain IT company to create those fake reviews from IT expert data collected or bots creation. Even negative reviews may appear to be written by unscrupulous competitors to tarnish their competitors who are a threat to their business.
The next most important verification to note is the reliability of the manufacturers or detailer using the products. Many are from China made under OEM and has no technical data or proper Certification report. Even if there are test reports available which are being paid for analysis, most do not have big industry customer to test and certify their product reliability in house before endorsing. ToughGuard Nano Surface Coating technology has been truly and fully Certified and Endorsed by USSR Navy, MNCs Aviation Groups and the Marine Clubs and Yacht owners in different parts of the world since the past decades till now. Moreover, the formulation had been improved in better adhesion and bonding though the negative ion charged and super nano technology with generous concentration inside the chemical substrates. Ceramic or Glass Coating are nothing new in the market. Since the day of Paint Protection Sealant and Coating decade ago, these ingredients are the active ingredients inside the Sealants. Even Teflon Coating for Automotive shine and gloss, the ceramic and glass substrates that contains silicone dioxide are the substrate that create the gloss and shine as Teflon will not coat shine but enhances the coating bonding thickness and toughness. There are also many different forms of polymers that blended very well with the ceramic glass titanium and silicone dioxide liquid substrate as they crystallize after bonding unto the paint surfaces. In nano technology, the particle of bonding, bond and built from the inside of paint micron pore from inside out, therefore creating a higher tensile strength compared to non nano types that only bond on the outer surfaces of the paint which may even peel off or crack. The next myth and hype are those impressive shops with bright lighting with designer renovated ambience, nice brochure etc. to entice you that their product are unique and coating room are dust free. I must admit that a dust free environment is very crucial and important for coating, because dust or dirt coated underneath the coating will not make good for your vehicle paint shine and cannot be remove once the coating crystallized unless with abrasive action by using compound and orbital buffering machine. As such, your coating will also be removed and need to be recoated in a dust free area again. In short, coating is not advisable to be coated outdoor or car park where dust and car carbon deposit flows in the air. Next is lighting. While lighting are crucial for the technician to be able to see what they should be doing, too much light is never recommended during the process of coating. A lesser amount of lights at certain angle is important to make sure that the coating substrates are spread out evenly that can be seen from the technician eyes. Bright lights will deter such visibility. Having your car treated in a 5 Star Hotel look alike ambience does not make any different compare to coating it inside your own covered garage. The only different is your feel good and your wallet. Your need is to coat and protect your car that you can bring home to enjoy the coating benefits and not bringing back the workshops. Please help to comment what you may think about the above myths and hypes, and do suggest any thought which you may have.
